SJUSD Igniting Freedom's Flame Fellows will explore the seeds of liberty apparent in the European colonies on North America's east and west coast. We'll enjoy a talk by professor Camille Leonhardt, an introduction to our textbook American Colonies, and a presentation by one of our teacher leaders.

World History Seminar Series: New Approaches in World History

McClatchy High School Media Center

In this seminar, Dr. Vann will provide an overview of the scholarship in the budding field of world history. In preparation for this seminar, participants will read the introduction to The Origins of the Modern World by Robert Marks as well an article from leading world history scholar Jerry Bentley. Mike will facilitate a seminar-style discussion on this recent scholarship, integrating documents that may be useful in your teaching. He will demonstrate how globalization and patterns of interactions provide a new lens on the past.
