Oildom. The John Benninghoff farm eight miles south of Titusville, Pa. as it looked in the mid-1860s. An indication of how rich some men got from the oil boom may be gathered from the fact that in Jan. 1868 Benninghoff was robbed of $450,000. See also LB-O-2.
